i recently bought a dell vostro and it seems to have trouble buffering streaming video. I called the dell technical support and when the guy set it up so he could see and do things with my screen the laptop buffered fine. then when he dissconnected the software it stopped working. He couldnt figure it out so he sent me a new hardrive. now youtube works but other streaming video still wont work. like tv links, megavideo, things of that nature. My home computer is slower than this one but it still buffers everything fine. is there a problem with the wireless? my dads laptop works fine. Please help, i cant find the answer to this anywhere online. My laptop is fast enough that it should buffer everything really fast. this is driving me crazy! If you need additional info about my laptop then just ask and i will figure it out for you!

you might want to play with your network cards settings

Right click computer and click manage.

click on device manager.

right click on your network card and choose properties.

click on the advanced tab at the top.

there should be a list of options there you can mess around with. I don't know which ones you should mess with or what most of those do but you can mess with them and see if it gets things working.

Here are the ones I know you shouldn't mess with.

*Speed & Duplex. leave that at auto or you might lose your connection.

*Wake from shutdown. Leave that off or you computer with start up on it's own every now and again.

*Energy star. Leave it enable so it can save power if your worried about that sorta thing.

Have you tried using the Firefox browser? From what I understand it is better for video. I use it. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

Also try this free utility from download.com if you like:
