Gateway won't provide them to me bacause the computer came with Windows Vista. I've tried millions of Sigmatel drivers, and some of them will install the Sigmatel Audio Codec in my devices, but with a yellow exclamation point. I already installed Microsoft High Defnition Audio for XP and all that. PLEASE HELP!

The Gateway website has a full set of chipset drivers.

http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/getFile.asp?id=21298&dscr=Chipset%20Driver%20version:%208.2.0.1014&uid=175243200

This file claims to support both XP and Vista.

yet another thought may well be to function yet another GB of RAM and notice if that facilitates. you may see a great improve in velocity. If not you ought to objective this: I rather have tried to do a matching activity to my Sony Vaio. If that's a sparkling laptop, nonetheless below guarantee, that ought to void your guarantee. i want to propose getting a sparkling complicatedchronic (an identical type & length because of the fact the previous one may well be counseled as that's what the laptop exchange into spec'd to). a million) you will might desire to bypass to the manufacturers internet site to your hardware (i.e. NIC, video, modem, and so on) and acquire the WindowsXP drivers. Load the drivers to a USB thumb/flashchronic or burn to a CD so which you would be able to get entry to them. 2) Pull out the Vista complicatedchronic and deploy the recent one. 3) deploy WindowsXP. 4) as quickly as put in and booted up, examine gadget supervisor to work out what drivers might desire to be loaded. with a bit of luck XP has the drivers, yet while not, you have them on the USBchronic or CD. I wasn't too efficient in getting each and every of the drivers from my Sony laptop, so good success.
