Advice on Purchasing a New Laptop?

I've been shopping around for a brand new laptop, to be purchased sometime in August or September, and I've been a bit swamped with options. I have definitely decided not to get a Mac.

Minimum Requirements:
- 500 GB HD (NOT solid state, and more would be nice)
- 4 GB memory (more would be nice)
- Blu-Ray Reader/Writer internal drive
- Integrated camera/mic
- Dedicated graphics card
- Minimum 3 hours battery life (if I have to buy a larger battery that's okay, and more would be nice)

Other Preferences:
- Screen size between 15" and 16"
- Lit-up keyboard
- USB 3.0 port
- SD card slot
- Looks awesome (yes, I am willing to pay slightly more money for something that looks awesome.)

I'm aware I'm looking at a pretty expensive price range, above $2,000, though I'm trying very hard not to exceed $2,500. At the moment, this had led me to consider one of three options:

*HP Pavillion dv6t Select Edition Series
*Alienware m15x
*XoticPC's Asus U53JC-A1

Any advice, recommendations, warnings, or suggestions would be wonderful! Thank you!

If you're willing to go a bit bigger then the Asus G73JH-A1 is the best choice for you.

It's offered on xoticpc.com as well. It has all the specs you want, just better, lol. he only draw back, if you'll call it that, is it's 17.3" screen. Other than that it's an great looking notebooks, powerful, and between $1600-$1750.

Now that Macs can run living house windows, you will discover which you will have the ultimate of the two worlds. even nevertheless you could run living house windows, you will finally end up spending extra time applying Mac OS X. a sparkling Mac will incorporate each and every thing you should attend to your music and photographs. you could edit digital video clips and make alluring DVD video clips. ultimate of all, it incredibly is quite uncomplicated. it incredibly is all drag and drop. you would be surprised on the flaws a Mac can do precise out of the container. don't be intimidated by applying the terror of attempting some thing new. you will love Mac, too. it incredibly is a spectacular time to alter. in the previous living house windows Vista ships, there will be a sparkling version of Mac OS X. it incredibly is referred to as Leopard. Leopard is desperate to blow Vista precise out of the water. i've got considered the previews, and it seems marvelous. there's a lot of latest advantageous factors to get excited approximately. i could desire to spend all day going over all the excuses why you should own a Mac. merely spend a while surfing the Apple internet site and you will discover out all forms of alluring issues approximately Mac. sturdy success!

Either the Asus or Dell from what you have listed or look into Toshiba. AVOID HP, they have far too many lawsuits pending on their laptops. Google it and see what I mean
