In my professional oppinion, unless the laptop is older, it should be okay to even hold it sideways to cool. The spinning disks in the hard drive will be okay because the producers know that the user will be mobile, so the laptop may be dropped or shaken around a lot.
in short, yes, it is okay to leave the laptop upside down unless it is pre 2000.

no. don't hold it upside down. it won't hurt your laptop (hard drives run upside down but sudden motion or sudden stops can kill a hard drive), but it has no added benefit whatsoever. a laptops internal cooling system is designed to cool the laptop completely (while sitting upright) without any outside assistance, unless it's sitting on a soft, stuffy surface like a shag carpet or a lap blanket that can block all the intakes.
If you're worried about it overheating set in on a flat, hard surface like a table or desk and it will be fine.
also maybe buy a can of "air" and clean out all the fan intakes you can find.

that could happen from the demanding tension being tilted. that isn't good for the workstation demanding tension. it could get broken and information could be lost. the reason this is occurring is as a results of the fact the suggestion can’t be written on the demanding tension speedier. (whether you're no longer downloading something there is information this is being written on the demanding tension.) some laptops even have accelerometers geared up into them so they comprehend whilst they're being tilted or shook so as that the demanding tension could be locked in place so as that it could’t be broken.

Turning it upside down won't do any harm but won't help either.
Try sitting it in front of a fan or prop it up something to increase air flow beneath it.

Holding a desktop upside down when it is running would ruin it but not a laptop, however, I would recommend a docking station or a port replicator as they have extra cooling fans.

No need to do so, just leave it on an even surface (tabletop, whatever). Flipping it will cause no harm, but won't make any good too.

it won't hurt anything. a hard drive will run in any position. that's a good idea. just don't shake or drop it too much.
