With fingerprint readers for notebooks/laptops, can you use it so that no one can get onto the computer but you! In other words, can it be so that someone can only get on if i scan my finger?

1. don't get excited to fast, the fingerprint readers almost never work
2. there are other ways to get on your computer even if it has a password....

It'd be kinda pointless if they didn't do that. Most fingerprint verification systems also let you in with a password in case you lose the scanner/get dirt on your finger/etc

well right now, they arent all that great. with the ibm thinkpads you can set it up so you can do both (use your fingerprint or type in the pass at the welcome screen). how ever they are convenient if you want to store all your passwords for websites and just scan your finger instead but you have to set up a program to do that.

Its rather good easily. As long has you're taking good care of it and don't abuse it or something. i might think of the stats are rather good - i assume you may examine it to love whilst the gentle on the backside of a mouse fails or whilst does a digital camera fails to take a photograph, possibilities are high very no longer likely. the only time it fails on me is when I swipe my finger too quickly, yet i assume it particularly is not likely failing. Its greater concerning human errors than the reader.
