Hello 'Catwoman',

Firstly 'Andybr1g' is wrong

and yes you understand correctly.

I have the same laptop model, so their was no need to research it, although i have researched you Television, Nice by the way, and it is PC compatible, and so is your laptop.

To view PC input on your Television, you will need either a HDMi cable, or the cheaper alternative a SVGA/VGA Cable,

The following link is from amazon and they start at about £4.00, which is fairly reasonable, considering some have free delivery,

Hope everything works properly, and i have previously used amazon before and they have proved to be good,

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss__0_4?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=pc+input+cable&x=0&y=0&sprefix=Pc+i

If you live in the UK like me, you could try Argos, their abit more expensive though, cheapest £14.79, Cat No: 675/5555

Also their the some, Cables on amazon to make your sound come though the television, click the link below

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_e?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=Stereo+Male+to+RCA+Male+Y-Cable&x=0&y=0

Anymore questions don't hesitate to ask,

Update:

You can use the Audio from the TV as well, if you get a cable similar to this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-03180-Stereo-Y-Cable/dp/B0002J1LES/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1249910933&sr=8-4

Hope this helps.

Wireless..:)

Hi Catwoman,

As per the specs in the below link you have a VGA port on your Laptop.

http://www1.ap.dell.com/in/en/home/notebooks/laptop-inspiron-1545/pd.aspx?refid=laptop-inspiron-1545&cs=indhs1&s=dhs

So, if your TV has a VGA port as well, you can use a VGA-VGA cable and connect both of them. Using the Presentation view on the Laptop and enabling the VGA mode on the TV will give you the desired video on TV.

Hope this helps.

Wireless..:)

You need to have an hdmi or vga or svideo port on your laptop to send video OUT..

You need to have an hdmi or vga or svideo port on your TV to send video IN.

If you have vga OUT on your laptop, and hdmi IN on your TV, you need to buy an hdmi cable, and a vga to hdmi adapter.

You need to find out what ports you have on both devices, and buy the necessary cables, and or adapters.. .. hdmi cables costs around $50 in store, but you can buy them online for $10 to $20. You get what you pay for in quality though. www.newegg.com search for hdmi cable, or whatever cable/adapters you need.
