I have a Toshiba satellite 1800 and every time im on it, after about 10-15 minutes it just turns it self off. Even when I have it plugged into the mains adapter and plugged into the wall. Is this the battery or is there something else wrong?

If you are plugged into the mains, it can't be the battery can it? CLEAN the air input, some machines it is removable. Make sure you use the CORRECT tool. If you don't have one , either buy one or don't do it.
You can but aerosol cans of compressed air, read the instructions before use!!!

Michael is probably right.. it could be an overheating issue i'd say take the battery out and let the laptop cool off for an hour and try putting the battery back in and turn it back on
hope it works

Your Battery is knackered, it’s invariably the battery, replace it ASAP. If your battery is more than 18 months old and it will not, run your pc for more than, say an hour, its shot. You’re not doing your charger or your pc any favours running with a duff battery that won’t charge. As your charger attempts, to try and overcome this inefficient battery lot of bits get hot and close down. Please take note and act now to replace it.

It might be overheating. Does the laptop get really hot before it turns off? If so, get a cooling pad and it'll stay on longer.
