I will be attending the University of Connecticut this fall as a freshman entering the Mechanical Engineering program. Which laptop will last me 4-5 years with excellent performance? I've done my research and here are the best choices so far:
Macbook Pro
HP ENVY XT Ultrabook
HP Elitebook Tablet
Toshiba Qosmio
I think the finalists will be the HP Ultrabook and the Toshiba Qosmio based on reviews and what I need out of the laptops. But, any imput is appreciated. Thank you!

Easily, MacBook Pro. A 13 inch one at that. My older brothers both have MacBook Pros for college, and anything bigger than 13 inch was too big for carrying around the campus. And UCONN! Good choice for college. And I'm not saying MacBook Pro because "Macs are cool and better and makes you look cooler" like most people would say. Macs are reliable, and a lot of engineering went into making the PCB. If you were to open a MacBook Pro, thats what makes me think its amazing. THey fit everything, GPU, CPU, and more on a tiny PCB so there is more space for the battery that makes it thinner. I could go on for ever, but enough with my rambling. Get a 13inch MacBook Pro, BUT DON'T GET IT NOW! Apple's WWDC is tomorrow where they will release the new Macs, faster, slimmer, better. So wait to you get your 13inch MacBook Pro!

MACBOOK PRO!

I can't fault it. Well, I can.

Probably the only fault I would say is that it runs out of battery very quickly if you like me, like your laptop constantly on brightness settings brighter than the sun. But if you just keep it plugged in it's fabulous! They are so smooth, downloads and photos and everything is so sleek and easy, there is no fussing around like Windows, I've dealt with a brick-like windows XP desktop for about 7 years so I may be a bit biased towards mac but mac is incredible, my mac is my saviour. :) For school, it's great. I'm in my second last year of high school and being such an obsessive compulsive who likes to keep organised it's so great with folders and the ability to keep stuff so easily on the desktop.

But what do I know, I'm just a very materialistic girl who spends her life on the internet.

Good luck, and happy laptop buying. :)
