Windows 7 Stuck on first Startup Screen (packard bell logo) the laptop is : packard bell easynote LJ65)

laptops was functioning perfectly.
but then when it started it froze on the first screen on( packard bell logo) and at the bottom it says "Press F2 to start setup" the laptop freezes on this screen and does not continue through startup, im not sure if the laptop actually freezes because you can press caps lock and it turn the light on and off at the top near the power button to show whether caps lock is on or not. The laptop will just stay on this screen until restarted but freezes after 1-15 mins as capslock light will then not work. I then tried pressing F2 to see if that would work at all and then the laptop will freeze after a minute and pressing caps lock will no longer turn the light on and off.

This problem persists and will not go past this screen when i turn the laptop on. The thing that bugs me the most is that i cannot access anything on the laptop so cannot fiddle around and try find out what the problem is myself or even stumble across it with pure luck as nothing is actually working.

i can't get past this first screen so there is noway of trying startup repair and dvd/cd/usb hard disk turns on but can't do nothing at all i have test the HDD on to another pc it's working like a charm

Pressing CTRL + F10 does not bring up Bios

Something i have found out is that when i press CTRL + ALT + ESC as soon as i press the button to start the computer it shows some more data :

InsydeH20 Version : V1.04
BIOS Buile Date : 07/25/2011

System Memory Speed : 800 MHz

Processor Type : Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU P8400 @ 2.26GHZ

Channel 0 Master : WDC WD3200BEVT-22ZCT0
Channel 0 Slave : Optiarc BD ROM BC-5500S

Then at the bottom left appears "Press F2 to enter setup", this still freezes if left or if F2 is pressed , CTRL + F10 or CTRL + ALT + ESC doesn't do anymore either.
This is like the same screen i had before but instead of the packard bell logo in the middle there is the above data.

Thanks very much and i appreciate your help

motherboard is bad, had the same issue on an older laptop i had, would boot then lockup.

You can try to take it apart make sure fan is free of anything not making it work, and taking cpu off and put new thermal paste on it and put it back together see if that might help.

Sounds like its over heating, but again i had the same issue and did all this and it was just mother board.

Seems like your laptop is overheating. At this point, it might be cheaper, easier, and better to simply purchase a new laptop. That computer is probably at a crawl. The ram operates at only 800mhz. Another suggestion is to change the HDD to an SSD. Keep in mind, you need to replace the mother board most likely. Good Luck, and don't forget to discharge!

Go to http://www.digitaldatasolutions.co.uk/files/Packard%20Bell/Boot%20Disk%20Creater/bootdisk16.exe

Download wiil start automatically (BOOTDISK16.EXE), run it and create a bootable CD-R

Boot from the CD-R

When it asks for the recovery CDs/DVDs, hit ESCape to go to the DOS prompt.

Go to drive A: type CD A: hit return/enter.
