Question:
From Vista To XP On A Notebook?

I'm thinking of going from Windows Vista to Windows XP on my notebook. No games can run at ALL. This is because I only have 1 GB of RAM and Vista needs 2 GB to run properly. When I say no games I mean no games. A very bad game such as MapleStory can't run... That's how bad it is. Since I know XP doesn't need as much RAM to operate it will be fine. Some questions though:

1) Since I'm going to downgrade to Windows XP (I have the CD for it) can it mess up my notebook in anyway which had Vista on it when I bought it?

2) If I do get Windows XP on my notebook, will/should games technically run and be played better now that more RAM is free for them? I know that it's not only RAM that affects the game - play but since I'm not going to be buying ANY computer parts for my notebook, switching OS's is the best I could do.

Here are my specs for the notebook:

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium (I'm not sure if it's 32 - bit or 64 - bit. I'm saying 32 - bit though)

RAM: 958 Megabytes Installed Memory (1 GB) Dual Chanel

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 1.70 GHz Dual Core

Motherboard: Quanta 30B7 65.28

Graphic Card: It's integrated: NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150

Again, please answer my questions above. Thanks - you in advance.

Unless you want sound on your notebook

then don't do it because if you downgrade from vista to xp

it will mess the up the sound on the notebook.

And the reason mess up is

because the audio drivers

are not made for the xp.

the laptop you have become is a lot able to Vista. And in case you get XP and p.c. Vista later, you will would desire to purchase a sparkling reproduction, while some variations of Vista contain "downgrade rights", so which you would be able to set up XP and alter back to Vista at any time. protection is stressful, authentic, yet so are the 1000's of folk at right here who consistently infect their computers with trojans. I view UAC as a try: while you're sensible sufficient to renowned the thank you to instruct it off (it is extremely quite elementary), then you definitely can do without it. in case you could not turn it off, then you definitely're those that quite p.c. the annoyance to maintain you from doing stupid. to those who ***** that their utility does not artwork: have you ever tried fantastic-clicking this methodology or shortcut, choosing "properties", going to the compatibility tab, and selecting abode windows XP? abode windows XP does not play distinctive video games from abode windows ninety 5, the two. Compatibility is already a non-situation for many new courses.

1) I'm pretty sure there is nothing wrong with downgrading from Vista to XP. In fact, it might even help your notebook!

2) Yes, games might run a little better/faster. Windows XP has lower requirements than Vista, therefore it will be smoother.

Hope this helped! You're welcome!
