I am trying to find a good computer.

Please list all the Pros and Cons if you can.

Oh yeah, I heard about the nasty yellow discoloration, but does it happen on the Black MacBook?

Black finish

+ people who like black computers will think it's cooler

+ iSight camera, remote IR less noticable in the enclosure

+ slightly larger hard disk in prebuilt configuration

- more expensive

- may show scratches more easily?

White finish

+ save $200 :P

- iSight camera and remote portal more visible

- some report discoloration problems

Whatever the problem is with white MacBooks becoming discolored, I suspect it will be fixed quickly. The iBook and the iPod have had white finishes for years without such problems.

Seriously dude, I called Apple and talked to their representatives via the net and they both said the same thing: there is no difference in the OS or anything, besides the fact that one of them is black and one is white. A trick is to actually just upgrade the memory on the most expensive white Macbook. Even with the upgrade, the white Macbook is 200 dollars less than the black one. So, to sum it up, there is no difference.

It probably doesn't get the discoloration, but black is really easy to scuff and have it really noticable.

I'd hold off on the macbooks until they fix that whole heating problem though.
