If you like the Windows RT tablets better than your iPad, then go for it. What are you waiting for? However, I just want to point something out that you may or may not know:
Windows RT is NOT Windows 8. Think about all the programs you can run on Windows XP/Vista/7. Now, realize that almost none of those apps are compatible with Windows RT. This is due to the fact that Windows RT is designed to run on ARM (tablet/smartphone processors) instead of the full-on x86 processors. It's the same reason you can't run Mac apps on the iPad, to give you a comparison. Windows RT behaves and looks like Windows 8, but it can ONLY run apps from the Microsoft Store. You won't be able to run Steam, Photoshop, or even programs like Firefox on a Windows RT tablet. You have to wait until developers release RT versions for these programs in the Microsoft Store.
Using that knowledge, we see that Windows RT is like iOS, except with less applications. Don't worry, though. There are many apps to come, and as you've already mentioned Windows RT comes with and runs Microsoft Office (the 2013 Preview, mind you—2010 and earlier are NOT compatible). Windows RT also lets you manage your files, change settings, and everything else you're used to in Windows. It just runs on different hardware. Heck, a Windows RT tablet with a USB port is compatible with many keyboards, mouses, webcams, mics—some, like the Surface, will even CHARGE an iPad. Keep in mind that you wouldn't be able to sync, though. As of now, Windows RT can't run iTunes.
I'm not saying don't get a Windows RT tablet. Sure, get one if you like it. I would get one, if I didn't already have an iPad myself. I may even buy a Windows RT tablet to use in addition to an iPad, but I'll wait a year.
