Today I tried to create a new partition on my hard drive to test out windows 8 release candidate, but something went totally wrong.

I have created partitions in the past and I figured I was doing it right, but this time I noticed something weird. I must have formatted the entire hard drive instead of just the partition I wanted, because in the disk partition utility program, the bar above each partition turned from blue to olive and it said I changed the hard drive to a dynamic hard drive or something.

I then proceeded to restart my laptop so I could start the windows 8 rc installation process, but when it rebooted it just showed a flashing cursor. Also when I hold the escape or delete button for about three seconds it starts beeping really loudly and persists until I turn the laptop off.

I can access the bios, boot options, system info / diagnostics, and recovery. I have tried using the system recovery option but when I do that it just has the blinking cursor again.

I hope I didn't mess up my laptop too bad as it is pretty new and I will need it for college soon. Is there a way I can get to the system recovery so I can get it working again. I don't necessarily need any of the files I just want a working operating system.

If you formatted the entire hard drive, you would have gotten rid of the recovery partition. If you cannot make it boot from an installation disc you will have to take it to someone more knowledgeable. It is doubtful that you have messed it up beyond repair.

It sure looks like you touched the partition where your Windows 7 is located and it seems that something went wrong in the formatting of your drive C which is why even the System Recovery option would not work. Try booting from the Windows 8 disc and format the drive C. After that, reset the computer to factory defaults.

If it doesn't work anymore, find a Windows 7 installer disc and reinstall the OS. Activate it using the product key written on the OEM sticker at the bottom of the laptop.

You must have formatted your main hard drive when you partition it. Forget Windows 8, it is a horrible operating system. I suggest you get Windows 7 installation disk and do a clean installation. Make sure it boots from your DVD drive first, this way you have a good operating system laptop as you get ready for college.

look at those article's it may help you on your challenge to making a lone/decrease back up of your HDD & the make or kind of your laptop makes no huge difference it will be your OS that makes the version!
