im new to the whole "deleteing of partitions" thing so bear with me here....

i ha reformatted my laptop twice to factory settings. i want to delete the old data from these "old partitions" permanently. to do this, you have to delete the old partition correct?

i go to compmgmt.msc in RUN and expand storage and see that there are two there:
volume________ 14.65 GB and 14.65 available
volume OS:C 283 GB with 195 available

the blank partition says its the primary ONLY and healthy
C Drive says its the boot, system crash dump page file active and primary partition....

what is this other one and is it the OLD partition and ok do delete?

All computers have a hidden factory restore partition if you boot up your computer and look at the monitor while it is booting up you will see it gives instruction to press certain keys to do a particular thing, The F2 might be to get into the Bios setting the F12 key might be to restore you computer back to the factory setting like it was when you first bought the computer,,,, The hidden Partition holds all the systems hardware drivers, Windows operating system and all the application software.

If you delete that partition you will then have to go out and buy windows, and all the application software at great expense Unless of course you are installing Linux where everything comes FREE then you can delete the hidden partitions and not have to worry about windos and it's software.

so think before you remove any partitions do you need the factory restore partition to restore your system back to factory defaults

Do you have any operating system like windows installed? If you want to delete only the data ie files you can simply right click and delete after installing OS.

If you want to modify or delete your partition you have to download partition magic and boot partition magic.

you in all probability have dissimilar records on it. attempt doing away with previous video games, photographs, track, etc. and shifting to a detachable storage gadget. Downloading multiple "cleansing" techniques somewhat purely clogs your complicated force with greater records. Is the computer all yours? Or do your parents use it? i may well be hesitant to do something if it somewhat is a working laptop or computer that your parents use. in case you prefer to maintain your video games and purely attempt a format, i might recommend doing a backup instead of applying Winrar on the records. That way you extremely do no longer ought to circulate in the process the concern of reinstalling. in case you do no longer backup, and nevertheless prefer to format, then determine you have the Vista set up disk, no longer the improve or restoration. After a format you will have no OS on the gadget and you may want the full disk for an set up. My opinion is, that except you comprehend precisely what you're doing, which you need to no longer possibly attempt to format the force. you need to erase the full force and not have any thank you to get it returned.

alot of computer manufacturers now put a restore partition on the hard drive instead of giving you discs of the software. partition magic is the best software to use to manage partitions on the fly, and it can ever re-size a partition with out you having to reinstall your os
