Laptop charger pin keeps burning out?

i have a Acer ASPIRE 5600 Laptop. I've had it for over 4 years and recently in few months iv been through 3 laptop chargers, because the charger pin that goes into the laptop keeps burning out. Also I've noticed that when the pin is connected to the laptop it gets very hot within few minuets.

Any help..??

Your DC jack could be damaged... the power adapter port in the laptop itself could be creating the short that kills your power adapters.



You need to have your laptop taken apart, the DC jack examined closely, and probably replaced.

The jack /could/ be the problem but I would definitely look at the charger. If the charger is defective due to manufacture defect or just the wrong charger, then it is another very possible cause. If you are buying your chargers from ebay or amazon, I wouldn't be surprised. Most of the products on the site are very badly made and always cause problems.



I would suggest you verify you are purchasing the correct charger and making sure you are getting it from a reliable place.

The problem is with the jack that the charger plugs into...a short or loose connection causing arcing. The jack can be replaced or resoldered.
