so it's almost Christmas of 2011 and I've been deciding to buy myself a netbook for lighter travelling to school. I've been looking at brands of netbooks (I've decided to cut out tablets cause I'd prefer a windows OS. i know Acer has a tablet with Windows but I don't like it so I've cut it out). Anyways, the brands or even MODELS that I've been looking around consist of Asus, Acer & Samsung. HP Mini was also one of my choices but then I was left to kick it out because I wanted a better processor. I will normally be using the netbook to surf the web, do homework (mostly Microsoft & Adobe), and download series/movies that I will be watching on the trip home or in the library. I'm kind of lenient on screen size whether I want to go with a 10.1" or 11.6" but of course, seeing that I really do not want to get annoyed of the heavy weight, my best bet is 10.1". Color, I'm really hoping white but if I have no other choice, I'm okay with whatever. I'm just really weighing performance and quality because the purpose of this netbook is for me to watch series/movies while I'm on the go, and able to surf the web and do some homework. I normally do download 720p or videos that I watch with Realplayer, and Media Classic with the CODECS.
Also, I would love it if someone could inform me more about a INTEL ATOM 570/550 Processor versus the AMD Dual-Core Processor C-60.
Asus Eee PC 1015PX - PU17/MU17: http://ca.asus.com/en/Eee/Eee_PC/Eee_PC_1015PX/#specifications
I don't really know whats the difference between PU17 or MU17, even though I've read that PU17 allows maybe an extra hour of battery life. This was also the only Eee PC that ran on Intel Atom 570. This netbook has mostly pretty decent reviews from my research. And personally, Asus Eee PC appeals to me a lot because it looks really cute and pretty, as does the following Samsung netbook.
Samsung NP-NF210: http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/office/mobile-computing/netbook/NP-NF210-A03CA/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=specification
Samsung NP-NF210 runs on Intel Atom Processor 550, yet it is NOT Dual Core. (or it is and I've misunderstood - not really a computer girl.)
Acer has a LOT OF CHOICES for me to pick, but my question rises again, Intel Atom Processor 550/570 or AMD Dual-Core Processor C-60?
Aspire One D257 is 10.1" and has one with Intel Atom 570 Dual Core. http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/models/aspireoned257
Aspire One 722 is 11.6" and runs on AMD Dual Core C-60.

This model that runs on AMD tends to be a bit more pricey versus the *above* model, but will paying that extra really get me my money's worth?
And lastly, Acer does not provide info on these 2 netbooks' processor so I'm probably gonna cut them out unless someone can provide some for me.

and this Samsung one...

Otherwise, the ones I've provided links for are my choices as of right now. Secondly, I've been to (I live in Mississauga, Ontario) my local Best Buy, FutureShop, TigerDirect, The Source, Canada Computers and I've found one ASIAN store that has the Asus model that I want for $299 with $150 extra of upgrading to 2GB memory. Meanwhile, I did not really spend time on the Acer although I think ONE of the Acer models in RED was available at that same store for a cheaper price, unless I can find another location for a better price (AND OF WHICH I CAN RETURN, because this asian store does not allow returns versus BestBuy/FutureShop).
Thank you guys for your time and help!
