this could be the problem follow exactly.

1) click the start button go to control panel. if its no there open my computer and near the top there is a button called 'open control panel.

2) make sure your in category mode if your not, in the top right hand corner this is a drop down menu in their you need to select category

3) select 'hardware and sound' and then select 'sound'

4) now there will be a device with a tick on it, select it then down the bottom select 'properties'.

5) up the top there should be a tap named 'levels" select that. it should come up with a a bar on how loud you volume is set at, next to it there is a button called 'balance select that.

6) now there should be two bars if there not all the way up turn them up, that should fix your problem, if they are even your computer is broken

First you need to figure out if it's your sound card or your speakers. I would grab a pair of headphones and plug them in the speaker socket and listen to something to see if the right headphone still has issues. If it does, then your soundcard is messed up. If it sounds perfectly fine, your speakers are busted. You'll probably have to buy a new pair of speakers. You should try googling the brand name of your speakers with "right speaker doesn't work" and see if anything comes up.

Go to control panel, Open "Sound And Audio Devices" and Click "Advanced." Check the speaker balance of all the controls. drag the button to center point. It will be balanced. The left speaker will work now.

I had the same problem and this is what I did:

Go to your control panel

Go to hardware and sound

Go to sound

Right click on speaker

Click disable

Right click speaker again

Click enable.

this worked for me. have no idea how but both sides are working again.
