Look up for a laptop disassembly video. Remove battery and power adapter, open it up and let the motherboard and circuits dry. Ones its all dried up, put it together and see if that works. Disclaimer: Do it at your own risk.

Don't just go buy a new computer instantly, check with a computer fixer near your location and let them see if it's possible to fix. After doing so, if it isn't... time to invest in money for a new laptop / desktop.

You killed it when you tried to turn it on after getting wet. We all know that water and electricity don't mix. You should have dried the laptop completely first, inside and out, before attempting to turn it on. It is now time to buy a new laptop.

How to Replace HP 350 G1 CPU fan ?

Ventilation and limited space are among the reasons why heat gets built up inside your laptop. Generally, the hot air that gets generated through various internal components and hard drive gets blown away with the help of a laptop CPU fan that is fitted inside the housing of the computing device. This fan is generally placed inside a heat sink and is responsible for keeping the central processing unit or CPU cool. You need to follow these steps if your laptop fan stops working for some reasons.

Place the laptop on a large table and under a bright light source. Use the assembly guide and owner's manual to carefully disassemble the laptop. Keep touching any metal to remove static charge if present.

If the laptop is in ON position then turn it OFF and then plug it. As a next step in removing the HP 350 G1 CPU fan, you need to remove hard drive, CD/DVD drive and the main battery. Across one side of the laptop you'll find a slot that houses the hard drive. You need to remove the screws in order to pull out the concerned hard drive.

Laptop then needs to be turned over and the screws at its bottom side needs to be removed. This will enable you to remove the cover that holds the keyboard together. Flip over laptop and open it up. Then you need to lift the laptop. In the next step, you need to remove the ribbon cable that helps connect keyboard with the motherboard.

All the screws that are responsible for holding keyboard bezel have to be removed. Plastic snaps if at all present at the sides needs to be removed carefully.

The HP 350 G1 laptop CPU fan then needs to be carefully removed. The screws that hold the heat sink in its place have to be removed carefully and then the fan unit has to be removed. If there are any harmful compounds present inside the CPU or the heat sink then it needs to be removed.

A thermal compound then needs to be applied in thin layers on the CPU and then the fan and the heat sink needs to be replaced. Place the screws over their cover and then tighten them to reassemble the laptop.

Once the device has been assembled again, you need to switch it on. Within few minutes you can hear the running of the newly installed HP 350 G1 CPU fan. Typically these fans do not runs continuously and hence you shouldn't worry if they stop for a brief period in between.

Yeah water damage almost always means a dead computer.

IF there was a way to revive it, you probably have ruined that chance by plugging it in.

To fix it, you usually have to replace the motherboard. The motherboard IS pretty much the computer, so it's like getting a new laptop of the same model. However, the problem is that motherboard replacements are usually quite expensive. Sometimes they may cost more than what the laptop is worth.

You probably fried it from trying to turn it on. There was probably water still in little cracks and trying to charge it runs electricity through it, and.... water and electricity don't mix.

The worst thing you can do for an electronic when it is wet is charge it. That is how things get fried. If you charged it while it was still wet anywhere inside, it is almost guaranteed to be dead.

Well, you managed to do just about everything wrong that you could. Water and electricity don't mix! That's why you never have any liquids close to a computer! Not only did the spilled water mess up the laptop initially you then tried to "fix" it by charging a battery that was already likely shorted out. You can take it to a local computer repair technician for an evaluation, but if your laptop is 3 or 4 years old, you mays well replace it with a new computer.

1: No liquids by laptops

2: It may be a simple thing depending on the amount of liquid. Was it water or soda ? Could just be a keyboard.

3: If the liquid damaged the motherboard, forget it... see rule #1. You can mount the HD into another PC and pull off the files you need.

As others have said nothing you can do yourself to fix it apart from taking it to a workshop, to see if it is economic to repair. Your hard drive, if you are lucky, may still work if you remove it and mount it in an external caddy.

If you have household accidental insurance you may have a claim

Probably not too much if you put electricity through it's circuit boards after exposure to water..... water is an excellent conductor of electricty, and can form a bridge between bits on the board that can cause a short circuit, essentially frying it.

Your best bet would probably be to get a new laptop, you can get essential files from the old laptop by mounting the hard drive from it in an external casing made just for the job (2.5" HDD Caddy / 2.5" External hdd enclosure).
