Dell inspiron n5110 core i3 battery problem?

i AM having problem with my laptop dell inspiron n5110 i3 ram 3gb hard 320gb , its battery timing has suddenly decreased to 1 hour onlyy...!! :(
But i'm confused because it happens only when i connect the internet otherwise it works normally ane and a half or two hours,i'll really be thankfull if anyone can help me solve it....

You may follow the steps mentioned below which will help you to extend the battery life of the laptop:



1. Charge the battery by keeping it plugged in for 12 hours before you unplug.

2. Switch on the optimized battery or power feature. It is also referred to as max battery mode.

3. Turn off power-draining facilities like backlights to preserve quite a bit of battery life.

4. Check to see if your laptop has the optimum amount of RAM. RAM enables your system to run program instructions using the computer's memory instead of its hard disk drive

5. Remove the battery and clean the metal contacts ideally every two months, to ensure that the power transfer between the laptop and its battery is as efficient as possible.

6. Unplug any laptop accessories you aren't using.

7. Defragment the hard drive so your system operates as efficiently as possible.

I had bought L502X because: 1.Nvidia 1Gb or 2GB Graphics card(dedicated one)+Optimus technology uses both Intels HD graphics and Nvidia according to the use. 2.2.0MP camera is too good when I chat with my friends. Lot more clearer and Superb even in low lighting. 3.JBL Speakers which provide much more sound than ordinary ones. 4.DVD R/W+Blu ray reader 5.Integrated 9 in 1 card reader. 6.I think all models comes with baklight keyboard which is helpful in dark(mine is 1). I also suggest if you could spend a little more go for I5 model in L502X and Full HD(1080p). Else go for this man, you wont regret it. Also 1 more thing. Battery life doesnt always stay for 3 hours or more. It depends on your use(heavy softwares tend to take up more power). Turning off the wifi,bluetooth when not needed can help you increase the battery span. Mine stays for around 2hours 15 minutes under normal use. And 1 more suggestion get a belkin surge protector to protect your laptop against power variations and all.

Probably because connecting to the internet is another process entirely. It's the same concept as using your computer with minimum brightness settings as opposed to maximum brightness settings. One takes up more battery life than the other because more battery power is needed. Your system probably needs more power to operate with the internet connected, and thus it sucks up more battery life.



Also, I hope your computer isn't super old. These days even cheap computers come standard with 4gb ram and 500 gb storage.
