Dell, HP, Samsung, Toshiba and others have to 'assemble' their computers too but 'in general perspective'.

By assembling 'a personal one', you get to choose the components like this or that motherboard, this or that processor, ... or even leave out components you do not need like a cardreader or install extra components like an extra sound card, ...

As a computer builder and repair tech, go with a hand built unit. It will cost you about the same as a name brand but will not have "any" of the bloat ware that comes along with the name brand. Also you can pick and choose your parts. It will be faster then a name brand.

To build a good basic computer you will need the following.

A tower (case) $40 to $60

A power supply $60 aprox

A Motherboard $60 to $80

A Processor (CPU) Intel I3 $120 or I5 &180

At least 4 gigs of RAM (memory) $25 to $35

A video card $60 to $100 (or much more if you want a big gaming card)

A good DVD Burner $20 to $40

An operating system (Win7 Home Pre) should work just fine. $100

The above prices are from online stores. www.newegg,com is one of the best sources for computer parts. I have used them for many years. I'm not advocating that you purchase from any particular dealer. But I like Newegg.

You must remember that ALL computers are assembled from parts not made by the company with the brand name. Most parts are made in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand etc. Many of the 'big names' use the same parts suppliers.

The parts are put together according to the spec which is set by price.

There is NO guarantee that an 'assembled' system will be built out of high spec parts, again it will be assembled to a price.

The only advantage of 'assembled' systems is that you can choose the parts to be fitted.

yes assembled pc are better than branded pc

advantages of assembled pc

1.cheap

2.easily upgradeable

3.good quality parts can be purchased

4.each parts has warranty

5.parts are easily available

6.overall good performance and efficiency

drawbacks of branded pc

1.only one year warranty for entire pc

2.more price

3.cabinet is really waste because some cabinets are slim and there is no proper ventilation for air flow inside case which makes pc to run hotter.

i never recommend branded pc anytime which are waste when it comes to gaming.

Personally built systems are customizable and a better value most of the time than their branded counterparts. If you can build one yourself, build one. It's almost always the better option.
