Question:
Replace battery or buy new laptop?

So, I have a 2 year old laptop. Last year I had to repair it and replace the hard drive (it got damaged when my laptop fell off the couch). Presently my laptops battery is pretty much useless, but should I replace the battery or just get a new laptop?
I'm reluctant to buy an entirely new computer because the hard drive itself is not quite 1 years old and runs very well. Not sure what to do, so I'd appreciate some advice.

A new lappie will cost 400 or more. A new battery will cost 50. Its a no brainer to me.

First of all, as long as you have someplace you can plug into, you don't really need a battery. The laptop I am currently using hasn't had a working battery for two years now.

Next, if you do want to replace the battery, you can usually get most laptop replacement batteries for between $50 and $125, which is much cheaper than a new laptop.

So, if you really need your laptop to be mobile and have battery power available, just replace the battery. If you aren't sure what you should purchase, then take your model and serial number to someplace like best buy and have a sales person help you pick the right one for your laptop. You could even take the old battery with you to be sure you get the right one.

buy a new battery it is a waste of money to buy a new computer when the one you have now still runs well

If your lap has no other issues, just get the battery replaced.
