Try the Apple MacBook or MacBook Pro. As a Mac user since 1985, I have owned 4 different Mac laptops. I used Windows while working and owned two Toshiba's and one Sony Vaio. I rarely used the Windows machines for pleasure. Now I have Windows on my MacBook and have used it once in the last 9 months.

You just happened to get a lemon. Every once in a while even good brands will just have that one or two defective ones. It sounds like you are having some hardware issues. There should be no reason that the store would not take it back or at least fix it for you though. I would not worry about even troubleshooting the problem since there is a warranty and they have to repair it for free or provide you another one.
