Yes, don't expect Walmart staff to be able to fix it. Take it into any qualified PC repair shop & they should be able to help you. Just a word of warning - it may just be cheaper to buy another one.

Walmart does no fix them. If its been less the 15 days since you got u can take it back to Walmart and get ur money back or swap it for another one. If its been less then a year u should still have a warenty on it and send it to the manafture to be fixed. Or go to local computer store that works on computers. Also you can try to reinstall Windows if you now howif not I would also try to call HP.

If you bought it at Walmart AND bought the extra warranty then you would need to follow the instructions in the packet that the cashier gave you at the time of purchase. Do not take the computer to Walmart - they do not do the repairs themselves. If you did not purchase the extra warranty and you purchased the computer in the last week or so take it back to the store and maybe they will exchange it. But if it has been longer than that or if you did not buy the extra warranty you will need to have it repaired yourself.

No they don't offer that service and if they did I wouldn't do it. Staples and bestbuy do. But imo take it to a computer shop. They will fix it instead of running windows programs and charge you for it. It sounds like a cmos problem to me or it took a nasty drop.

Hi Micheal Try a repair install from your Windows Installation CD. Boot the computer using the XP CD. You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots before the hard drive. Check your system documentation for steps to access the BIOS and change the boot order. When you see the "Welcome To Setup" screen, you will see the options below This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft Windows XP to run on your computer: To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER. To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R. To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3. Press Enter to start the Windows Setup. Do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R", (you Do Not want to load Recovery Console). I repeat, do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R". Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing Windows installations. Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to start the repair. If Repair is not one of the options, END setup. After the reboot Setup will copy the necessary files to the hard drive and reboot. Do not press any key to boot from CD when the message appears. Setup will continue as if it were doing a clean install, but your applications and settings will remain intact. Hope this works for you Good Luck
