I had a Dell Studio before and was able to restore to factory settings by pressing F8. I now have a Studio XPS 1640 but when I press F8, the option to restore to factory settings or use factory image is not there. What can I do?
I don't have any discs. I never needed them before with my old dell studio.

Hi CH,
My name is Krishna and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. Pressing on Ctrl + F11 during system boot will start the PC Restore (Image restore) that is loaded on a partition on the hard drive. Using this you can re image your system back to the factory settings.
Please Note: This erases ALL the existing data. This includes files, folders, programs, drivers, E-mails, photos. Hence before performing a restore, back up all personal files.

Go online to the Dell support site and look up the manual for your computer - it might be F11 on the keyboard or you might need to press two keys at the same time - the manual will have the instructions.
