i have installed redhat linux in my laptop toshiba tecra 8000
but it fails in detection of sound card
msg flash no sound card found n i also use usb mouse
it also not detected by linux

The answer is, use windows XP pro instead!

Dear friend,



First try to boot from a Knoppix linux distribution and check whether the sound card gets detected in that. If it works , then switch to any Debian based distribution. :-)



or tell me the version of Redhat linux that you are using. ie RHEL 3.0 or RHEL 4.0 or Fedora core series.

do it on your command on the spot. its in upload-ons. and charm in reset or format all in capital. IF it doesnt artwork type in help and enter and u'll locate out sumthn. i assume it won't artwork. yet u ought to purpose.

open a terminal and type dmesg

look for messages about usb_sound



that should give you some clues
