Outstanding Mobile Performance

For today's multitasking, on-the-go computing lifestyle, you want outstanding mobile performance when you're away from your home or office. With mobile applications becoming more complex, and demanding faster, more efficient computing performance, Intel Centrino mobile technology is designed to meet the demands of new and future applications with technology that offers faster instruction execution at lower powers.

Some key features contributing to the outstanding mobile performance of Intel Centrino mobile technology include:

* › Micro-ops fusion which combines operations to reduce time and power required to execute instructions.

* › Power optimized Level 2 Cache and Enhanced Data Pre-fetcher which reduce off-chip memory access and increases availability of valid data in L2 cache.

* › Advanced instruction prediction which analyzes past behavior and predicts which operations are likely to be requested in the future eliminating CPU process replication.

* › Dedicated stack manager improves processing efficiency by performing general "housekeeping" functions.

* Enables Great Battery Life

Intel Centrino mobile technology delivers outstanding mobile performance while enabling great battery life with power saving technologies such as:

* › Intelligent power distribution to focus system power where the processor needs it most.

* › New power-efficient transistor technology which optimizes power consumption and dissipation for lower CPU power.

* › Support for Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology to dynamically enhance application performance and power usage.

* A Variety of Laptop Designs

Intel Centrino mobile technology enables the latest in mobile PC designs, from thin and light, to full size. To fit high-performance processors into the latest slim and ultra-slim laptops, PC tablets, and other cutting-edge PC designs, Intel Centrino mobile technology uses Micro FCPGA (Flip Chip Pin Grid Array) and FCBGA (Flip Chip Ball Grid Array) technologies for packaging processor chips specifically optimized for thinner, lighter laptop PC designs.

The smaller designs of new laptop computers require special considerations be made at lower powers to suppress thermal power. In response to this, Centrino mobile technology features Low Volt (LV) and Ultra Low Volt (ULV) options that allow the processor to run at lower voltages, to decrease thermal power for tablet and extra-slim laptop designs.

Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology

Intel® Centrino® Duo mobile technology-based laptops with the new 64-bit enabled Intel® Core™2 Duo mobile processors offer greater than twice the CPU performance, when doing processor-intensive tasks like multitasking, and designed for power savings and better battery life¹

Revolutionize your mobile entertainment and communications experience with one of the latest, sleekest, power-efficient and connected lntel mobile dual-core processor-based laptops.

Experience innovative, reliable, compatible laptop technologies with extended capabilities that help you manage and better protect your laptop PC fleet for maximum business advantage.

Revolutionary mobile performance

Intel® Core™2 Duo processor engine

Based on Intel's revolutionary Intel® Core™ microarchitecture provides optimized performance and power savings²

Intel® Advanced Smart Cache

With up to 4 MB L2 shared cache compared to 2 MB L2 on the Intel Core Duo processor, the Intel Core 2 Duo processor offers even more efficient data sharing, providing enhanced performance, responsiveness and power savings. The shared cache adapts to mismatched loads on each core. When one core has minimal cache requirements, the other core can increase its percentage of L2 cache, thereby reducing cache misses

Intel® Wide Dynamic Execution

Improves performance and efficiency as each core can complete up to four full instructions simultaneously using an efficient 14-stage pipeline

Intel® Smart Memory Access

Improves system performance by hiding memory latency and thus optimizing the use of available computer data bandwidth to provide data to the processor when and where it is needed

Power-Optimized 667 MHz Front Side Bus

Provides increased data bus bandwidth, vs. prior generations, for faster data transfer to help meet the needs for demanding applications

Intel® 64

An enabling technology that can take advantage of 64-bit applications and the Microsoft Vista* OS as they become available

Intelligent power capability

Intel® Dynamic Power Coordination

Coordinates Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® technology and idle power-management state (C-states) transitions independently per core to help save power.

Enhanced Intel® Deeper Sleep with Dynamic Cache Sizing

Saves power by flushing cache data to system memory during periods of inactivity to lower CPU voltage.

Advanced Power Gating

Allows parts of the CPU core to be shut down even during periods of high-performance execution to optimize performance per watt

Intel® Dynamic Bus Parking

Feature of the Intel Core 2 Duo processor that enables platform power savings by allowing the chipset to power down with the processor in low-frequency mode states to enable extended improved battery life

Enhanced wireless technology

Improved Interference Immunity³

Enables enhanced wireless network performance with higher throughput in areas with wireless signal overlap

Flexible roaming with enhanced AP selection

Ensures the best possible connection and maintains the connection with maximum stability, for downloading files or gaming

Support for latest industry and leading third-party security solutions

Supports security protocols for 802.11a/b/g and leading third-party formats, like the latest Cisco Compatible Extensions*.

802.11e QoS support

Supports quality of service for delivery of real-time applications such as VoIP or streaming video over a wireless link
