Is there a cable that I can buy for my 13"(Black 2007) macbook that allows it to play on an HDTV?

You can get adaptors for the "mini-dvi" connector on your laptop to VGA, DVI or HDMI, the official adaptors are quite expensive but monoprice have some cheaper copies (note: I haven't used monoprice mysefl but i've seen a lot of people reccomend them).
From there you can connect to your TV using standard cables.
Bear in mind that none of these adaptors support audio so you will need a seperate connection from your macbooks headphone out to your TVs "PC audio in"

You need to tell people what laptop you have, what connections it has and what TV you have and what connections your TV has. Then they can tell you whether they will talk to each other or not.
