Hiya!
I'm after a netbook to take away with me travelling and was just wondering what the best option is?
Does having Linux make loads of difference - like would I still be able to use flash sites etc? And also do the mobile broadband pens work with Linux?
Any ideas on a suitable but not massively expensive one?
Thanks

No such thing

Linux is for tweakers, I suggest you stick with Windows unless you know how to bug fix and you are ready to download lots of software for it to work with windows programmes

Price:

Asus Eee PC 901 - Price: £200-£250

Battery Life

Samsung NC10 - 7hours (almost 8 with SSD)

Power

Zoo Substorm Subnotebook - Core 2 Duo P7350 and its still 10"

Weight/Mobility

Asus S101 - 1.1kg (2.42lbs)

Simply put, its hard to pick a best netbook. In terms of specs they are very close to each other. One particular netbook I like, is the HP Mini 5101. It packs power and the design is absolutely beautiful. It has a pro look to it and can perform heavy tasks. The price might be a bit high for a netbook though which comes in at $449. If you're interested in reading about the netbook here's an article I found. ( http://techkritik.com/2009/06/24/hp-mini-5101-looks-good-available-in-july/ )

Yes, there are flash plugins developed for Linux.

Yes... but it will require a bit of tinkering for it to work.

The Acer D250 has a cashback option -- probably not the cheapest 10 inch netbook out there, but where i live, it is.

You need to do a bit of research before you buy.

Linux is a good OS. Get an Acer Aspire One. I have the blue one:
