First you need broadband, then after that, if you want to browse the internet wirelessly then yes, you'll need to buy a wireless router.

Just ask in any computer store about wireless routers and the salesperson should be able to direct you to the right items and even advise you about them. After you have a wireless router it's as simple as replacing your present router with the wireless one and connecting to it (your PC should come up with a little message saying Wireless Networks Detected, or something along those lines) and then you just enter the security code you got with the router so your computer can connect to the router.

Yes, your laptop is wireless enabled. You have to own a wireless router yourself if you want it to work (or you could try and connect using the other available networks but this may be illegal as you are stealing your neighbours bandwidth!). You do not need to "subscribe" to a network, when you click "refresh network list" and it displays the list of wireless networks available (e.g. Belkin54g etc.) you have the option to connect to those networks. To connect to one, either double click on the name or click the name once, and click on the connect button and it will attempt to connect you. The network may be password protected but if its your own network then you will find the default network key on your router. If it connects successfully it will usually notify you, and next to the name in the list it will say "connected". You have the option to disconnect from the network by either double clicking it or clicking the "disconnect button". If you are not sure whether your router is wireless enabled, then either look up the model on the Internet, or often wireless routers have an aerial, so look out for that.

Go here and look at page 6 to start http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1545/en/SG/F123HA01MR.pdf

Goto loal library or coffee shop that has free wifi to test that it really works so you will know it works when setingup your own wireless router...which is simple if you follow directions from router maker.

Also consult the manuals that came with your laptop. If not a printed version you will have CD with all the manuals on it.

You can ether get a router for yourself assuming you have wired internet connection. If not, you can go to a public location like a library or a park that has free wifi. You can just use their wifi connection to get online.
