What would happen if i swap 2 different hard drives with different os? My hard drive is:
>Western Digital Scorpio Blue, 500GB, 5400rpm, installed with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, running a Sony Vaio VPCEA36FA.
The other one is;
>Seagate, 200GB, installed with Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit, running a Compaq Presario Laptop.
The Seagate hard drive is in Hibernate mode, using Compaq... I then swap the Western Digital... When i boot it..it installs its drivers.......capable for sony vaio..but it still works....
But i dont know on what happens if i return its original hard drive..will it corrupt?..how about its original drivers...will it install back?....
(ive access the seagate content using a drive enclosure, while im using western digital....)
...pls help me on what would it happen if i return the original drive back....pls..give more infos about this....thnks!!

Your operating system is on the hard drive currently in your computer. it will just load up whatever operating system is on that HD.

Nothing else will happen. No corruption...it will be like you never swapped them in the first place.

Edit: It will boot just fine, windows has generic drivers for most hardware as you already swapped them out you can see that it did NOT have a problem and booted without an issue. I don't know that this other person read your post in it's entirety. Swapping it back will have NO effect on your drivers.

IF you remove the existing hard drive, C: Drive, and replace it with a different hard drive that has an operating system installed IT WILL NOT BOOT CORRECTLY. Because the operating system on the second hard drive does not have the correct drivers or configuration installed.

If you remove the Original hard drive and install a second hard drive and then install a different operating system or even the same operating system on the second hard drive then that will work.

You can have as many hard drives as you want with different operating systems on them as long as they were all installed on the one computer.

each and each replica of homestead windows has a hardware profile on it, so sure - you are able to desire to reinstall homestead windows on the two structures. you won't have the ability to basically do away with a hardcontinual from one gadget and function it boot in yet another gadget. Microsoft would not enable that.
