okay, so somehow, i got this "Antivirus 360 Protection Center" downloaded onto my computer. IT IS SO SCREWED UP!!! it keeps sending all these stupid pop ups about how i have all these viruses on my computer... and about every 5 minutes, it completely shuts down and reboots, telling me it detected some huge virus that it got rid of. i have no idea what to do... i can't seem to find a way to delete it off of my computer... when i go to the "add or remove programs" under my computer, it's not there! what do i do, or how do i get rid of this!?!? please help me!

before you do anything. Restart your computer and as soon as you do press F8 repeatedly until to get into the advanced boot options menu. Boot into safe mode, when your in safe mode, try to uninstall it then, it should work. you don't have to re-install your OS. Safe mode will have a lower screen resolution, don't worry about that, that is how its supposed to look. After you uninstall it, reboot your computer and bott into window's normally.

Would everybody with a virus PLEASE stop telling people the *first* answer is to re-install Windows.

Try the "manual removal" answer below, and of it still hasn't solved the problem, You'll need to find someone else with a computer that can let You fix Your hard drive on it.

To do the fix, first be absolutely positive that the system You'll be working with has it;s antivirus software updated and running on system startup.

Once that's done, remove the hard drive from Your system and install it into the working system as a secondary hard drive. When You start the system there shouldn't be any files from the bad hard drive running, and it will be able to delete any files necessary when You run a virus scanner program on the whole system because they're not locked to run Windows from.

After You have finished the scans, and removed any virused files remaining after the manual removal, You can place the drive back into Your own system, thank the pseron; who loaned You their system, and get out Your Windows disk.

Start the system as many times as necessary with the Windows CD in the drive, it may take 1, 2, 10 reboots, but that just means that Windows is finding the hard drive files that were deleted on the CD and replacing them where they belong.

You will have a working system again, and don't dload ANY antivirus or program again unless You know exactly what it is, and spread the word to anybody else who uses Your system.

I also highly suggest doing a full backup once the viruses are removed and while the drive is in the good system, just in case You do need to do a full re-install. Just so You don't have to open the system cases twice, and because it can be done from the Windows CD in the virused system.

Good Luck!.

that's actually a virus that pretends to be an anti-virus program. and all the while that you are online it downloads more virii onto your computer until it gets so slow you cant do anything. it starts with a popup from someones webpage. The popup tells you tha tyou have a virus and that you should do their free scan. When you click for the free scan, you are actually installing the real virus. it then continues to tell you that you are infected. ultimately you even get tricked into paying them money to register their fake 'antivirus' program and it still doesn't stop the popups and scare messages.

go get freeware anti-virus program "Avast". and do a complete scan immediately after installing it. and follow the instructions from Avast let Avast clean it out of your computer.

don't reinstall.that's too much of a trouble backing up data and stuff.Really, it's not the apocalypse or anything.Just a pathetic little spyware.Reinstall!!! NOW! While all isn't lost yet!!.For god's sake.

What you got there is called "rogue software" and it's a spyware

Just get a good spyware software like spybot search and destroy

http://fileforum.betanews.com/download/Spybot_Search_Destroy/1043809773/1

do a full scan and see what it finds

another good free software is "malware bytes",google it and you'll find it.

ALso get a free trial of kaspersky from there website and do a scan if the spyware softwares can't help

really,it's a common problem.I see no point in formatting.

Boot your computer into "Safe Mode" by tapping on the F8 key on your keyboard as it starts up. Once there, use Windows Explorer to find the executable file that is triggering the "warnings". Delete that file and possibly the whole folder that it is stored in. Now reboot the pc and that should take care of it.

look for the same folder i guess it would be symantec under c:\program files and then delete all the files. before deleting it go to services.msc abd then stop all the services realted to symantec...also click on start -run- and type msconfig.

on this screen go to services tab. under service tab check hide all microsoft services and click on disable all. hen go to startup tab and click on disable all. click apply and then close it will prompt for restart...restart the machine it should fix your problem...

if it works do let me know ...and donate if only it works

if required email me

thanks

Unfortunately your best bet is to re-install Windows. You'll lose all of your documents unless you've backed them up somewhere else.

Ok, two options:

1. Buy a Mac (no viri)

2. Blow out your brains.

I'd probably just go with option 1.
