Why Cant i get the sound working after vista upgrade on Tosh laptop?

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120, after a clean install and installing the latest drivers i still cant get the sound working. not throught the laptop speakers or the headphone socket yet vista says the sound card is installed and working correctly?

Any ideas?

Yep, I go with the check all your volume controls first. Maybe you did, if so check again. Recently had a friend with a similar problem, he checked all his volume controls, all set correctly and on maximum. Then I suggested he check the manual volume wheel on the front of his lap top. It was turned down, so he turned it up, and hey presto, sound

I think driver is not compatible with vista even it shows ok.Try to call toshiba Costomer service.1-800-457-7777

find out what sound card maker is go to there site, look for drivers for your system, or windows update might have them. did you check all volume controls.
