If you still have the factory Dell CDs that comes with the laptop, you can restore it back to factory. If not, you have to get a copy of window and re-install it and download all the drivers from the Dell support website. http://support.dell.com/

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/xlob/dtg/en/index.htm This is the Manual Website. Look in the right column. You will see Restoring Operating System. Personally, I don't like to go back to factory. Sometimes you get a bunch of Promotional software. If you can get your hands on a Windows Installation DVD, just reload Windows. Here is the driver Homepage also.

What operating system ?

Did you create a set of recovery disc or get a set with the lap top ?

The system recovery disc set can be ordered from http://www.support.dell.com by model and serial number.

Use a set of operating system recovery disc and re install Windows.

Use the built in system recovery to re install Windows.
