I have a pretty old Sony laptop, and I'm trying to figure out how to use the blue symbols that are printed below the F2, F3, F4, etc. keys. I've tried holding down the Fn key and pressing the key with the blue symbol at the same time, but it literally does nothing. Come somebody help me, please, because the brightness of my laptop is killing me!

The brightness settings can be adjusted through the Control Panel anyways. Those buttons should correspond with the Fn key, but the computer may be messing up. Like the other poster said, try searching the serial numbers of your computer on the internet to find what they do.

To my know-how, the "blue symbols" merely seem once you carry the fn key (function key, many times to on the backside-left of the keyboard). according to possibility the secret's caught? additionally, laptops generally comprise added application, some that manage the type you keyboard enter works. i'm no longer conscious of HP, so i won't be able to say for optimistic, yet try looking by way of those computers to be certain if there is a few thing placing it off. in spite of this, you may try plugging in a USB or playstation /2 keyboard, and notice if it receives an identical difficulty.

Read the user manual on the Sony computer site. Yes it is there, find your model and the manual will be there.
