YOu need ot give more information, as stated above.



Whats the model/make of the laptop? processor speed, RAM, video.



Aero is fine if you have a decent video card, if you have something like the Intel GMA (integrated graphics) I would advise turning it off.

Call of "load XP" and biased answers like that do not help you. Ignore them.

INSTALL XP that will make your computer run ubber fast :P



Windows Vista = Windows ME = lots of issues and problems with memory and over protected crap...



Vista needs a bare min of 512mb of Ram to even run and thats a choppy computer it runs best with every thing disabled and about 2 gigs of ram

The key ones are memory and turning off the aero interface.



To remove the aero interface, right click on the desktop, select personalise, click theme and select windows classic.

You should get more ram if you don't already have more than 1gb of ram. You can get some at crucial.com they have a memory advisor thats easy to use.
