First off sharing internet is called a hotspot. Now it really depends on who your provider is and what plan you have. Some companies charge extra money for using a hotspot ontop of your monthly data bill. Other companies do not. If nothing warned you or if you didnt have to accept terms of anything then you shouldnt be charged for this. Now with the internet you used you are using your phones data. How ever many MB or GB you pay for a month is being used. If you go over your monthly allowance then 300mb of data is charged extra. You will have to wait and see on your next bill but if you did go over it should not be a significant difference.

Depends which provider you have...

Some charge extra some don't.

You need to ask your Internet Service Provider (ISP) about this.

You will be using your phones 3G or 4G Data, which is usually charged according to what you would normally use on the phone its self.

A tip is to limit online video streaming and downloading as that takes the most bandwidth.

You need to check your cellular data package and what is the fair usage policy. If you are exceeding your limit then it can cost you more but you have the unlimited package and you are within the fair usage policy then you do not need to worry about it. But the best way to use unlimited internet is to have an unlimited connection from any ISP with WiFi option.

Using wifi from your phone to your laptop is called "hotspot," meaning that your phone provides alternate wifi if your primary one is unavailable.

It all depends on your phone plan to whether or not you'll be charged extra, so it's good to double-check with your phone provider.

*In most cases, you have the option to turn the hotspot off to avoid other people mooching off your wifi... although some hotspots require passwords [if you enable it].

You mean you've connected your laptop to the internet through your phones internet data? Yes it costs money, but you're only paying for the data/internet on your phone not your ordinary internet connection.
