it solves everything.

however it does give you some hurdles to overcome

so it is wise to prepare for it.

your pc will become as it was out of the box.

therefore you will start windows and it immediately will ask what Username you would like etc etc.

The preparations you should make

1) if you have prepaid software, then you will need to re-install it, therefore you must have all their licence information ready

2) because windows will now be Out Of Date, you should prepare for this. Before resetting, download the windows SERVICE PACKS. This saves an immense amount of messing about.

3) save your precious data externally off disk.

the process should be

save your data

download your service packs as stand alone packages

and put them onto cd/usb

turn off your broadband you dont want that interfering with you resetting

reset your pc, skipping any activities needing broadband

make a windows recovery disk. This si what you needed for your current problem.

apply service pack

make a new recovery disk(label it as per service pack)

apply next service pack

make a recovery disk(label it as per service pack)

your pc is now ready for Updates, so turn on broadband

update your pc

after applying all updates, it is wise to Backup the pc.

you are done

assuming your hardware is in good condition and working correctly reinstalling windows (restoring factory settings) will cure just about every problem you can think of

the computer will run as if it was brand new with no glitches or lagging the down side is you'll wipe everything that is on the computer now so you'll have to back everything up you want to keep you'll also have to reinstall all your programs including anti virus and anti malware programs but other than that your computer as I said will be like new in the way it runs

All it does is start you back at square one as far as the software goes...It will not deal with hardware defects..Nor will it leave the updates intact...CAUTION if you have an XP installation it will be dropping offline early next year..So all of the XP users will be left in the dust at that point

it will resolve almost all the problem(software wise).
