I am having a problem with laptop in full screen video mode. It just started happening yesterday. It seems if I run a game in full screen video - the graphics are very slow and choppy. It even happens when the 3d pipes screen saver goes on.

your resolution is probably set to high, try lowering the resolution in the video settings on the game

hi,
did you install your driver of your video properly? like if its ATI you should probably go to ATI web site and download a update of your driver, im sure they will provide you one =)
try installing directx 9.0 and above and see what happens to your screen saver. Directx helps you on your 3D applications.
if it still flickers or too slow, usually laptops shares there video memory on your RAM, so if your RAM is only 128mb, the video memory consumes around 32-64mb, minus that to your RAM (128mb) and you will get a very slow performance on the game. try upgrading your RAM at least to 1GB.

disable your screen saver and APM (advance power management) in windows and bios. you can also try lowering down you screen resolution. sometime your background running software also can contribute to this or even virus.
