why is my laptop so slow? its new..?

i got a laptop (TOSHIBA) its new and i got ATT internet DSL n my comp is slow when i go to youtube or anything it takes long time to load and my two friends have same thing but theirs go fast...does having songs on lime wire ( or mp3 rocket) slow down comp?..anyways....please help my comp go faster its sooo annoying

my modem is 3wire
and i check performace or w/e n it says 100mpbs? how can i make it go fast??? please and thank you guys

More than likely you have gotten a present from someone in lime wire or that mp3 share-if that's what it is- From the description you give it sounds like a simple mule is on your machine. When you boot up that program is trying to make your machine a spam sender.

Toshiba should have supplied you with a startup/emergency disc. Running that should fix it-if not then it could other things but I would run the install disc first a see if that works.

ps-Why in the world would you be running an out-of-date dangerous fileshareing programs like those that are not only illegal but really have nothing to share. There is really no excuse to use these now as the RIAA made fools of themselves and admitted it and thats all anyone ever wanted. Music is so much cheaper now that when I was buying it 20 years ago. Really no excuse to steal anymore.

Toshiba should be fast. You probably have a virus. Why use limewire anyway? You can download MP3's directly off youtube although you'd have to convert them.

sounds like its your internet, not your computer. if the actual laptop was running slow it would boot up slowly and run programs other than the internet slowly as well.



the only way you can fix it if it is your internet is to call your company and upgrade the speed.

well maby you have to man things downlouded on it then tht will make it slow well but yes it is new but it can just be the make of the computa take it back from where you got it and ask i hope it helps xxx
