ok, so im thinkin about buyin a laptop for myself, so i dont have to use our family computer. first, i have questions that i wanna ask.

1) what are some good brands?

2) does internet come with it, or do you have to pay for the speratly, or like a monthly bill?

3) can i like some how use the internet connection from my family computer?

4) whats wi fy? (specll check on that one)

ok, now im askin your opinion on a great brand of laptop. some of the features, or things that i would want about it are;

1) i wanna good brand of computer, not some cheap one that will get messed up real easy.

2) i need it for like emails, facebookin, myspace, school, etc.

3) i really want it to be under $400.00 but really no more than $500.00 if i do have to go over $400.00.

4) i really want it to be worth the money that i put into it.

thanks so much for your opinions and answers!!

a nice deal presently going, but only available in stores., not online

so better checkout which stores have stocks

your laptop is internet capable & you can connect via dial-up, dsl, cable modem, wireless etc http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet

now you need to get a monthly subscription plan

wireless or wi-fi, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi

starbucks has free wi-fi, as also few municipal areas, hospitals & utilities , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotspot_(Wi-Fi)#Free_Wi-Fi_hotspots

as regards sharing your internet connection with the family computer, this should generally be easily possible if connection is dsl, cable modem or wireless., but not if it's a dial-up connection

please let us know what sort of connection, plan, or modem / router is installed to give you a better picture

This is an Awesome Laptop well worth the cash it's even got a nice dedicated video card. Yeah its 450$ but thats a whole lot of Laptop for the cash. Dual Core CPU, 3 gigs of Ram,320 Gig HD, Graphics Card!!!

Acer is a killer brand for laptops, this is a sweet deal!

As far as internet goes yes you can use it with your existing internet connection be it Dial up or Ethernet/Wireless. You can chose to pay for a internet card for when you are on the go but there are a lot of internet cafe's out there that offer FREE wireless internet access. If I had the cash I'd already own this bad boy. GL hope it helps. :)

2) 3) 4)... internet access is never included with a new computer. You subscribe monthly. You need to buy a wireless router to share internet connection with the family. This will be Wi-Fi.

For 400 bux all you can usually get is a netbook not a laptop.

It depends what price range your looking at, if you want on fairly cheap (300-500) then dell inspiron always does the job for me, if your looking to spend more, then there are a lot of laptops made for gaming, you just need to google them, hope this helped :) Also with gaming you want a laptop with a lot of ram (about 4gb minimum) and a good processor
