First of all, sorry for asking the question but I am very strapped for time right now and I simply cannot do quality research on my own.

Im looking into something ultra portable, 12-13.5 inches.
FULL AMD is very highly preferred.
Backlit keyboard a big plus.
Pricetag preferably under 800$
If you dont have anything for me, Just fill your answer in with some tech talk on when you think I should start looking for a lappy if you have the hookup.

Something that is not core i3 and any processor of a previous generation.
Definitely not an intel/AMD MAC (unless you point me towards a mac with a SPARC processor)
Definitely not Nvidia/Intel Graphics of any sort, very bad experiences and unhappy workmates.

$800 will get you a pretty good laptop, I would expect to get at least an i5 quad core above 2.5 GHz (possibly an i7 or an AMD A8), 6GB of RAM, 1 TB hard drive and 500MB of dedicated graphics memory.

The problem with anything under 13" is that they start to become netbooks (not notebooks) and they try and shove solid state drives in (which raise the cost significantly) and they are definitely NOT designed for performance, they have slow processors. So if you can manage a 14" you might be better off.

EDIT: i am with you on the AMD vs. Intel thing. I bought an AMD FX-6100, 3.3GHz hex-core for the same price as an i5 quad core and it is so much better... but if you are looking for performance you should know that you need to buy a desktop, not a laptop. You don't seem to be open to other people's advice though

AMD CPU's are very slow compared to Intel Sandy Bridge, and they consume a lot of power. The Llano series especially are terrible.

My recommendation is a Core i5 Toshiba Portege

They're built like tanks and have a magnesium casing. Very stylish, lightweight and durable.
