For Windows Password, As far as I know , there are two main methods to solve the windows password problem as follows:

1st Method:

Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type \Administrator\ (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.

Now you can reset your account password from \Control Panel - User Accounts\.

Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

2th Method:

Windows password Recovery software:

for example:Reset Windows user Password in 3 Minutes

http://passwordreset.org/windows/reset-windows-user-password-in-3-minutes.html

For Bios Password, also two methods.

1st method . Open you computer box and Discharge to the Board manually

2st method . For example this tutorial: Bypass BIOS Password or Crack CMOS Password? http://passwordreset.org/bios/bypass-bios-password-or-crack-cmos-password.html

Hope it help to you.

I am no expert on laptops, but I beleive the other guy is about right. The only way I know for a home user to reset the BIOS password is to find the jumper pins on the motherboard and set them to the clear state and remove the CMOS battery. It resets the CMOS to the default state. I have seen some boot disks which claim to be able to do this, if you can find one online, I think one might be called ERC Commander, I can't remember for sure if it will get to the CMOS or just the Windows Admin password. ERC costs some money though, it's a pro piece of troushooting software. If you can prove you own it, which might be tough since you bought it used, you might do like the other guy suggested and call Acer or the company that made the BIOS, probably either AMI or Pheniox and see if they have a backdoor password. It might be to new, I know some of the newer laptops did away with that feature for thief reasons. Also some laptops store the BIOS info on flash memory, and just taking out the battery will not clear the memory, it's like a mini hard drive, it doesn't need power to keep the info, in that case the only way is to find the jumper pins.

If you do not know the password for any login with administrative privileges or didn't set a password recovery disk, then you will need to use a password reset utility.

I have used this one to reset password on both Windows XP and Vista.
