Can I use my laptop while it's charging?

Would it be okay if I first used the fully charged battery until it was empty and then plugged the laptop in, or is it fine to plug it in while the battery is full?
I'm also wondering if partial charging is a bad thing, for example if the battery goes down to 40% and I then plug it in? Or if the battery is down to 40% and I don't charge it all the way to 100%?
Another concern is if frequently plugging and unplugging will be harmful as well.

You can use your lap top while it is charging and plugged into the wall. You would even be able to use it,if you took the Battery out,and had it plugged in.The more the battery is charged, the weaker it becomes. There should be battery options at the bottom of the screen on one of the icons that lets you control what Battery mode you have it on.HP's have 3 different settings to either save power,or have full use of power.

It's fine to plug it in when the battery is full. The battery won't be charged further and the COMPUTER will run off the power from the AC Adapter. So the battery will not be in use once fully charged. :)

It's fine to plug it in when the battery is full. The battery won't be charged further and the comptuer will run entirely off the power from the AC Adapter.
