yesterday it took me by reall surprise when i tried to turn on My laptop compaq 610 after about 36 hrs but it refused to turn on without plugging in the charger. after turning it on A/C power when i checked the battery status it was zero. i m dead sure when i turned it off last time the status was 90+. i checked the battery health it was in GOOD health. more over the battery back up has dramatically reduced since last few days. it was consistently giving me 4+ hrs but now it is giving 3 hrs along with system hang in problem frequently? what could be the reason? it is still under warranty!

Definitely you should get a new battery. When a battery does that it means that its about to die because it can't hold the charge given to it by the charger. If you get a new one your problems will be fixed.

Best of luck.

turn off your on the spot, it eats potential If that fails and you have had the computing device for a 365 days or so then save on with the link and Calibrate the Battery The electronics equipped into the pc manage any overcharging subject concerns i.e. they do no longer exist. Lithium Ion batteries are a chemical reaction and do run down with age and use - circa 500 recharges or 18 months.

A cell could be going bad be very careful if the battery gets hot not just warm unplug it remove the battery and place it in and on a nonflammable surface. Contact/check hp status. Provide by ^^Tonys link above ^^. The last thing you want is it to catch on fire and hurt yourself or someone esle.

Good luck. Hope this helps

get a new battery. these batteries now a days are made out of some nasty stuff in pcs. haha

unlike macs (just sayin ;-] ). this could also be caused in affect of a leakage which can cause a lot of damage to your computer and this may also be caused by something going wrong in the hard drive, RAM, etc.

if you are on windows always use the hibernate option not sleep, hibernate completely turns of the computer but allows you to return to the current state next time.

Happens alot. are you sure you let it shut down before you closed the lid? that can have alot to do with it.
