I have this laptop since February. Everything was working perfectly. The sound card was already installed. I never had problems with sound up until now. When I put headphones i can listen but when i plug them out there is no sound from the laptop. I've checked the sound system/card (which is SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC)and says it works! How can i fix that?

here are some details about my computer:
It's Dell Latitude D630. Windows Vista.

This might be a problem with your headphone's receptacle connector.

This is hardware problem so you have to contact your supplier.

Well some times that the software can't detect a bad hard ware. So it'll be better if you get it check to computer technician. Because the speakers of your laptop is might be defected or malfunctioning.

the set off mechanism (what the computing gadget makes use of to tell if headphones are plugged in) interior the headphone jack could be caught. this takes place with my PSP sometimes and the only way i could desire to repair it became wiggling it around and putting it in and pulling it out at as quickly as til it ultimately all set to work back

If you mean when you pull the plug of your headphone, there is no sound from the internal speaker then your internal baby jack is defective.
