I'd like to transfer files (in this case, photos--thousands) from my pc to my laptop. Can I do this?

If so, which cords/cables will I need?

Thanks!

You can do it with an Ethernet cables from both computers

Its the same cable that you connect from your router to PC

you have to be on the same work group though

a cross over cable is a way to connect two same devices. By connecting this type of ethernet cable you can transfer files.

I would recomend using Remote Desktop Connection (rather than a cross over cable) to connect to your laptop from your PC. Using RDC requires that both computers be on the same network and is a free built in application by microsoft windows. Check out this article by microsoft on using RDC:

You need to get a Ethernet cable called as a cross cable(Easily available). Once connected sharing is a breeze..
