Toshiba laptop not working?

My laptop was working just fine this morning but then it started freezing and since this has happened before all I did was just hold down the power button to shut it off then started it back up thinking that it would work. But after the Toshiba logo comes on, it flashes to two options "launch startup repair" or "start windows normally" when I hit the start windows normally it has the windows logo on for a minute but then in a millisecond it flashes blue then loops back to the Toshiba logo and gives me the startup repair option again. When I hit the startup repair it just goes black and has a moveable mouse cursor (that's bigger than my normal mouse cursor) and stays like that. When I tried going into safe mode it took me back to the "launch startup repair"or "start windows normally" option. Please help me try to fix this! This has never happened to me before and my anti-virus software never alerted me to any viruses or anything, this just happened out of the blue and I'm usually very careful to make sure I get rid of any viruses or block viruses from getting in. I honestly didn't even do much on my laptop today before it froze. I just went on tumblr, had iTunes open, Sims 3 open in the background, and just checked my yahoo e-mails.
I think my laptop is a satelliteC655D-S5138
Please help me fix this! I need my laptop for school and don't like using my dad's laptop more than I need to.

it sounds like it overheated from having all of those programs especially sims3 running. boot-f8-restore to a previous setting & use the w7 repair disc

Hi, if you put your ear to the hard drive compartment see if there is funny sound coming from it (raspy, grinding) .

When it loops like that many times there is an issue with bad sectors on the hard drive, specially where windows boot loader is located. This may mean a new hard drive is needed. Or you may need to reload windows, from your backup CD or Dvd if you have them. If hard drive is bad you will not be able to reload windows if your recovery is based and loaded on your damaged hard drive (if it is) nor would you want too, cos you will have more problems in near future, get worse if you were successful to restore

I hope this helps.

Boot into BIOS and check around in there.

Haha, just kidding. The real problem is that you are using Windows. Burn a CD with Puppy Linux or something to test out the boot system.

Cheers!
