Why does my laptop lose connection when I close the lid?

Question

For some reason, whenever I close the lid on my laptop, I lose my wireless connection. I have it set to 'Do Nothing' when I close the lid. I'm running Windows 7. Anyone have any ideas?

it's probably because the antenna is inside the lid. so you might want to get a wireless extender thing(usb)

Well it's supposed to disconnect from the internet, and I think it does that when you close the lid even if you have it set to Do Nothing. Next time you connect to your wireless network again, try selecting 'Save This Network', and if that option doesn't come up, right click on the network and go to Properties, then under the Connection tab, check off the box that says 'Connect automatically when this network is in range'.

just like the other person said...when you close the laptop it automatically goes into standby mode to save energy and so it doesnt overheat it goes into self cooling mode and if your using internet the internet may lose conection or just exit out all together...

Well Rudy, You must be closing your laptop pretty hard for it to lose connectivity. Maybe if you closed it gently and stopped watching so much clown porn?
