I've been having this problem maybe a month to where some of my keys stop working. Before it was my n, b, d and c keys. Now its my a, q, z, tab, caps, esc, !, 1 and ~ keys. Sometimes they come back on and I'm able to use them, but lately they haven't been working. I'm not sure if this is random or if somethings causing it but it's very annoying. Does anyone know how to fix this? Help would be appreciated! (I'm using a laptop by the way.)

Cleaning the keyboard may help. If a separate keyboard (not part of a laptop), you can easily clean the keys by using a can of compressed air, but do not do long bursts of air. Short, controlled bursts of about 1 to 2 seconds at most.

Debris, dirt and bits of food can cause keys to stop working as they get under the keys and block the keys from moving, or cause interference in the connection. You can also take the keyboard apart and gently cleaning the contacts with soft brush.

If this doesn't help, and they keys still don't work, could just be it's showing it's age, or taken a lot of abuse. Keyboards of 5+ years will start to have problems with keys not working due to contact erosion, damage and even just dirt build up.

Have you spilled any kind of liquid on the keyboard?

It could probably be fixed with a new keyboard. I replace

a lot of keyboards. The cost is usually around 35 to 40 bucks.

Of course that can vary depending on the make and model

of the computer. Are you talking about a laptop or desktop?

If it's a desktop go to wal-mart, Best Buy, or Office Depot and

get a new one. around 15 bucks. I wish you were here I have

15 or 20 and I would give you one.
